Aug 4, Reversing Cavities is Real

I had a dentist appointment just the other day and to be honest I was a bit concerned as I had recently increased my intake of fruit (not highly recommended as the amount of sugar in fruit today can damage your teeth and your body). I believe it is better to get raw fruit in your diet then it is to cook grains in any form, even quinoa. In the long term it is best to eliminate or reduce high glycemic fruits as well.

So as I completely wean myself off of grains (and become 100 raw), I have been eating more fruit to replace the calories. As a result, my teeth have become a bit sensitive to fruit sugar.

Lately, I have also been trying a different dental protocol. I still floss of course, but I now brush my teeth only with products that don't contain any added glycerin. As described in this video, glycerin is added to almost all toothpastes (even health food store "all-natural" ones) and this causes a film to remain on the teeth for days preventing the minerals in the food we eat to work into the mineral structure of our teeth.

Since people mostly brush their teeth twice a day (hopefully!) this results in a constant layer of film over the teeth that prevents re-mineralization! Be sure to check out part 2 of the above video to understand how this works in more depth.

Anyways, I was fearing that I was going to have several cavities or "watches" (soon to be cavity "soft spots") because of the increased sensitivity I was experiencing. I had x-rays done at the dentist and as it turns out my watch from last time had completely vanished! Apparently my teeth look great according to my dentist!

Yaaaayyyy!

This just further convinced me that avoiding glycerin in toothpaste (I use either neem oil or Dr. Bronners soap on mine) and eating plenty of mineral rich foods (like green juice !) is a major key to long term oral health and thus also our human longevity potential.

Jul 31, Here's an easy recipe to incorporate the health benefits of seaweed.

Mineral deficiencies are rampant in developed cultures. This is simply because the soil in which we grow our food is rapidly becoming more and more depleted with each successive generation.

Edible seaweeds are some of the highest mineral rich foods because they grow in the ocean. Ocean water contains every known mineral and trace mineral!

Here's a quick and easy recipe to incorporate the health benefits of seaweed in a very tasty way.

Herbal energy soup:

Place the following ingredients in a blender or food processor, ideally a vitamix.

~2 cups of an herb tea you're currently working with.
~2 tbsp of dry hijiki or arame (types of seaweeds, get these soaking while adding the rest of your ingredients.)
~1 small handful of dulse (a type of seaweed)
~1 Small handful of pre-soaked truly raw almonds.
~1 small handful of pre-soaked raw punkin seeds (pumpkin seeds:p).
~4 cups of salad greens or other dark leafy greens, half as much if you're using wild greens.
~1 fistful of your favorite sprouts
~1/8 of a lemon with the rind still on.
~1/2 an avocado or 2-4 tbsp of olive oil.
~1/2-1 whole tomato depending on the size.
~1-5(!) cloves of garlic depending on the size of the cloves and whether or not you have a date tonight.

Extra:

~A dozen or so flakes/chips of dry ginseng (a very small pile in your palm)
~1/8-1/4 tsp. of cumin powder
~1/8-1/4 tsp. of turmeric powder
~pepper (radically enhances the absorption of all herbs!)

Blend it and then pour it into a bowl. Adjust to taste.
